CC-20 Owner Willing to Wait for Library
by Lisa Crockett

Village Homes, the owner of the parcel of land being developed at the corner of Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch Boulevard, is still hoping a library will come to Castle Pines North (CPN) to serve as the anchor tenant for the development.

“Because of delays in construction, we still have a chance to make the library happen at that location,” said Douglas County Library Director, Jamie LaRue. “If we don’t pass a ballot measure in the 2008 election, though, we’ll lose our chance.”

A successful vote in the 2008 election would provide funding for a 6,500-square-foot storefront library.

No other tenants have signed on for the CC-20 project, though there is interest from a day care provider and a medical office, according to Bill Jenkins, the real estate broker for the Laramie Company, who is handling the project. “We hope to have more news soon,” said Jenkins.

The residential portion of the development, meanwhile, is underway. The 47 dwelling units being built on the northern portion of the parcel are a mixture of town homes and patio homes called “The Crossings” and is part of Ward 2.

“We anticipate construction will last a year and a half to two years,” said Village Homes’ Natasha Nola, the manager at the site.

Town homes are priced from the mid $200,000s and patio homes are priced from the mid $300,000s.
