After more than a year of the county planning and approval process, the new T-Mobile cellular tower in Castle Pines North (CPN) is on its way to becoming a reality.

In August 2006, Douglas County sent out referrals on plans to construct a cellular tower in the south parking lot of The Ridge golf course. The Master Association design and review committee made recommendations to Douglas County and to T-Mobile. The Master Association proposed several changes to the tower that would make it more visually appealing to the CPN community, as well as cut down on unwanted light in nearby residential neighborhoods.

According to the Senior Project Manager for T-Mobile, Matt Butler, the project will most likely start construction in mid to late November and take about 30 days for completion.  All construction, most of which is wiring and electrical work, will be isolated to the parking lot and should not impact traffic.
 
“It has been a very long process working with the county,” said Butler, “but I know T-Mobile is very excited to construct this camouflaged light standard facility to provide subscribers with greatly improved residential, commercial, and emergency 911 services in Castle Pines North.”

The manager at The Ridge golf course, Mike Henritze, said he is also pleased to be able to provide additional security to his employees who utilize the parking lot. He added, “Hopefully, this is a win-win for everyone involved.”
