Roadway Landscaping, Traffic Safety Projects Planned for April

Residents can soon expect to see two improvement projects underway along the major roadways in CPN - - landscaping and traffic safety projects.

Douglas County is expected to begin construction to level the berm at Berganot Trail and Monarch Blvd, which creates a serious blind spot for drivers. The County approved and funded the project in March.

"We are encouraged that the county is going to resolve the safety issue that residents face by minimizing the blind spot encountered at this intersection," said Sherri Brummett, Master Association Board member and Delegate from Tapestry Hills. "It has been extremely dangerous and once remedied, will bring a sigh of relief from many residents of this area."

In addition, the CPN Metro District will begin the first phase of the roadway landscaping improvement project.

The landscape improvements are a multi-year project funded by the CPN Metro District, with a portion of the funds contributed by the CPN Master Association.

This year's project will include two segments along Monarch Blvd., from Briardale Drive north to Hidden Pointe Blvd. The landscape project will also repair and replace evergreen shrubs in the median on Castle Pines Parkway. Shorter shrubs will replace aging and dying shrubs that currently obstruct views for drivers along the Parkway.

For more information about the landscaping project, please contact Charlie Fagan, Manager of Parks and Open Space for the Metro District at 303-688-8550, ext. 20, or e-mail
charlie@cpnmd.org.

Residents with questions regarding the roadway construction at Berganot Trail should contact Alex Larson with Douglas County Public Works at 303-660-7490, ext. 3238.
