Update to Current CPN-Vicinity Highway Construction Projects

State Trooper Eases Congested Traffic Flow During Construction

A Colorado State Trooper has been stationed on the Castle Pines Parkway Bridge (over I-25) to help ease traffic congestion during construction.  Until further notice, the Trooper will be present every weekday from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.  The Colorado Department of Transportation will re-evaluate the traffic situation during construction on a month-to-month basis, to determine the Trooper’s help is still needed.

“We’ve already received calls that the State Trooper did help facilitate traffic flow.  His first day was October 18, and we started receiving positive feedback on that day,” said Nabil Haddad of CDOT.

Despite previously reporting that recent traffic congestion on southbound I-25 from Castle Pines Parkway through Castle Rock was not related to construction, CDOT decided to retain a State Trooper after receiving numerous and continuous complaints about traffic jams.

The southbound ramp from Castle Pines Parkway to I-25 received a new batch of concrete on October 21 and 22, which caused traffic back-ups and delays.  Traffic was stopped to allow concrete trucks to get in and out of the area.
